We are thrilled to announce that we’re participating in The Big Give Women and Girls Match Fund campaign from 10th to 17th October 2024. This is a 7 day match funding campaign, during which your donations will go twice as far. So make sure to participate and join our journey to achieve a future free from female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C).
4.3 million girls are at risk of FGM/C this year, with 44,320 girls or young women dying a year as a result of the practice. That’s 1 girl dying every 12 minutes. But there is hope…
To mark the Big Give Campaign, we’re celebrating the efforts of women we work with in the FGM/C sector who are driving change within their communities to end this practice. We’ll be introducing you to Sariba, Jacqueline and Benazir and sharing how support from Orchid Project has helped to shape their stories and to end FGM/C.
For us to continue working with these empowering change makers, your support is essential. By donating, you will help us to continue advocating for their rights, undertaking research to understand what helps to end the practice, and strengthening grassroots organisations to create change and end FGM/C in their communities.
How to Participate for a Future Free from FGM/C
During the campaign, every donation made will be matched, meaning your generosity will have double the impact. Here’s how you can get involved:

- Important donation information: Donations can be made from anywhere in the world, but they must be in GBP. Please be aware that it is your responsibility to check for any international charges from your bank. While The Big Give hopes to include more currencies in the future, for now, all donations will be processed in GBP. Each donation is subject to a small processing fee, deducted at the point of transfer to the charity.
